Rebuilt pier becomes the major source to resume aid  to Gaza

According to the US forces, humanitarian aid is flowing back to the devastated Gaza Strip on Saturday. This is done through a newly rebuilt temporary pier. The US military constructed this pier to increase the rate of delivery. Friday is the day when the pier was reestablished. This pier is the source to deliver 492 tons of “much-needed humanitarian assistance”  on Saturday morning. US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported this data in a social media post.

UN and different aid groups say that Israel is stopping necessary things to deliver in Gaza. All of these things are basic and required to live life. It includes water, food, medicine, and fuel. Due to this action of Israel 2.4 million people were hurt. Israel also did a rescue operation in central Gaza on the same day. According to Hamas, this attack killed approximately 210 Palestiaians and hurt many more.

CENTCOM emphasized that the pier, its staff, and equipment were not involved in the hostage rescue mission. The Israeli military reported that four hostages, who were in good health, had been abducted during Hamas’s attack on October 7 at the Nova music festival, which triggered the ongoing nine-month-long war. The hostages – Noa Argamani, 26, Almog Meir Jan, 22, Andrey Kozlov, 27, and Shlomi Ziv, 41 – were rescued from two separate buildings located in the heart of the Nuseirat camp, in a complex daytime operation.

After the Palestinian militant attack, Israel forces have freed seven captives. The attack was done in October in Southern Israel. At this time 116 hostages are still in Gaza. Furthermore, according to the army system, 41 of them have died.

At a beach in Tel Aviv, people cheered when a lifeguard shared some news.

A 42 year old boy told ,”We have had these hostages in our thoughts for every day for the better part of a year now, to have even a few of them rescued against all odds, it means the world,”

At the same time, Hamas media office issued a statement that “Due to the attack of Israel in Nuseirat camp, many people were killed and also injured. 210 were killed and more than 400 were injured.

Israeli police said a policeman was fatally injured during the rescue operation. This happened even though many countries around the world were urging Israel to act differently after a deadly attack on a UN school in Nuseirat, where displaced people from Gaza were staying.

Ceasefire essential

Benjamin is under pressure and facing regular protests. Protestos demand a ceasefire to bring captives home. This Saturday, protests again gathered in Tel Aviv with signs saying, “Noa [Argamani] is home! We want all of them!” Netanyahu talked to Argamani on the phone and promised to bring her back home.

The President of the United States applauded the rescue mission. He said, “ We won’t stop working until all the hostages are home and a ceasefire is reached. That’s essential to happen.”

Israel claims that Hamas along with its partners is using UN buildings. They used such places for their military operations. But Hamas deny this claim. The conflict became the major reason for severe destruction in Gaza. According to reports many people died and also many were injured.  Most of the 2.4 million people living in Gaza have had to leave their homes. Yussef al-Dalu, resident of Gaza, said this airstrike destroyed his neighbor’s house and took the lives of 5 people. This information is according to the emergency services.

Challenges remain

Additionally, According to an Israel report, Most of the civilians, about 1194, were killed in Hamas attacks. Furthermore, according to the Gaza health ministry, the Israel response to this attack,  killed 36,801 people in Gaza.  Israel is facing global isolation, war crime accusations, and several European countries recognizing Palestine. Thousands marched in London for a ceasefire, and protests occurred in Washington against U.S. support for Israel. Netanyahu urged Benny Gantz to remain in the emergency government amid political pressure and demands for a post-war plan for Gaza by June 8.

Gantz was expected to resign but instead asked for thoughtful consideration on the next steps. Efforts to achieve peace are failing because Hamas and Israel can’t agree. Hamas wants Israel out of Gaza entirely, but Israel disagrees. The US is trying to help, with Blinken visiting key countries to discuss the situation.
